It also provides a set of recommendations, notably based on best practices in other countries, to help SMEs use their IP assets as leverage to secure appropriate financing.
A FAQ is included to answer the frequently asked questions SMEs may have regarding the valorisation of their intellectual property.
Finally, the guide includes a list of all relevant contact points to help SMEs navigate the various formalities with ease.
Which intellectual property rights (IPR) does your business own? Are those rights protected? If not, is it possible to protect them? How much will it cost? What are the advantages of protecting IPR? What are the risks of not registering IPR?
Those are questions you may not have the answers to. The IP prediagnostic service, offered and subsidised by the Intellectual Property Office (IPObel), can answer all your questions about IPR.
In 2025, the IPObel’s Contact Point dealt with 1,305 questions from businesses and citizens in addition to the 345 questions directly answered by the FPS Economy’s Contact Center.
In addition, 11 IP consultation days took place all over Belgium.
The Contact Center is at your service every working day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
